It does make me wonder how whole-face facial recognition could be possibly disrupted by sunglasses only covering eyes. Do they reflect and dazzle rather than hide? I've seen adversarial clothing which makes more sense to what I know about AI/ML. www.theguardian.com/fashion/2026...

No, it's more a "we don't have anything useful to say about this topic but we can write about a similar one" problem. They did mention Zenni's ID Guard lenses, which are specifically for blocking retinal scans, and said the other sunglasses also did that.

And these things don't actively block Meta's glasses. There are some things that specifically detect Meta's (using its Bluetooth ID, so not blocking cameras or camera glasses in general), and there are things that'll reply with lots of IR that can interfere with some cameras, not sure about Meta's.
