As has been the case for six years any news outlet taking trump live thursday night after he said he’ll lie about the 2020 election and the legitimacy of georgia’s senators is explicitly endorsing that lie as a legitimate opinion

Any news outlet that does is also reinforcing their illegitimacy.

and they all will.

No offence but it sounds like you're saying media barons should choose whether they cover POTUS... I think they should ..every time ..including good presidents... Coverage isn't the problem...chicken shit framing of that coverage...is the problem

Exactly!!

Hear this, #MSM! Don’t broadcast his lies! Ow you’re complicit in his #coup scheme. The American ppl have a choice. Mine is to tune out. Consider: We either strengthen or weaken this #dictator wannabes grip. If the networks air it, I beg you to tune out. Use your #power. @msnowreports.bsky.social

Agreed. The only thing I'd be OK with is something like, "Trump says Dems ran free and fair elections, only his own administration held questionable elections."

I hope someone points out one of Georgia's senators was reelected after 2020. Was that fraud too? If so, was Trump's election in 2024 fraud as well?

It doesn't matter what the logic or proof is. They won't respond to proof.

Ответ для ABOLISH ICE NOW!

Logic is not the point, it's about delegitimizing two possible Democratic candidates for President/Vice President in '28 in the minds of voters. Most folks nationally won't remember that Warnock got reelected in '22. It's about getting punches in early

I highly doubt Trump's main concern is anything other than 'the 2020 election was rigged and I didn't really lose.' He simply can't mentally accept HE is a LOSER.

Ответ для dbgbdwolf

It's all entangled. You're right, his ego and vanity are probably the driving forces, but so is his need to hold onto power.

Ответ для Mike Milford

Talking about the 2020 election isn't about that, though. It's purely about him trying to prove he didn't actually lose.

Ответ для dbgbdwolf

Not entirely, he's in the same breath trying to delegitimize the '26 and '28 elections while also propping up the "need" for the Save America Act

Absolutely agree. Please do not broadcast his driveling lies!!!

What's happening on Thursday night?

“Sure Lindsey helped enable and empower a lawless criminal conman to be president, but we all need to remember how funny he was on the golf course. We’ll miss you, Lindsey.” - Dem Senators

I get that it’s polite to not speak ill of the dead, but there’s also the option of just saying nothing! Or, at the very least, just say they extend condolences to his family and friends if they feel compelled to say something … because politicians seem to like the sound of their own voices.

it is kind of a prerequisite for the gig

He should never be covered live. No discerning, sentient journalist can do so. Only the MAGA megaphone fawningly feckless followers do that.

It took me a few reads to get exactly what you're saying here Maybe a few judiciously placed commas would help?

You understand the "news outlets" are part of there coup right?

@npr.org @pbs.org @maddow.bsky.social @meidastouch.com @cnn.com @msnownews.bsky.social @couriernewsroom.bsky.social @atlpresscollective.com @statesnewsroom.com @georgiarecorder.com

And from thereafter, they are dead to me.

100%

And yet

Well the major news networks are on all his side now. Why would they try to have any integrity when all that money is just lying there?

I know @spectrumnewsny1.bsky.social and @cbsnews.com.web.brid.gy will air it. This is a mob boss shakedown speech that should not be aired.

And the local stations who constantly post "Trump says" items with zero context or opposing views every day on social media

I remember how they show trump empty stage while ignoring Berine who had alot of support. The mainstream media shove biden beacuse they're for the establishments that care more about billionaire than working people. They and corporate dem help in trump rises.

It will a spectacle of lies and incoherent, rambling nonsense. Any news media outlet that airs it live is doing a disservice to its viewers/listeners. They should wait until it’s over and provide a brief summary.

Looking at you, @abcnewsdesk.bsky.social @cbsnews.com.web.brid.gy @nbcnews.com @npr.org @cnn.com

So they’ll all run it, I assume?

Or if they don’t have DOJ officials who actually investigated this BS on afterwords that’s a shame

Broadcast TV will carry the speech, because they are afraid that the FCC will pull their licenses if they don't

Ответ для kth

Which is perfectly normal in a non-authoritarian country amirite?

Ответ для kth

That's not why they will carry it. They are part of the coup.

Ответ для ABOLISH ICE NOW!

I don't get what they think their future looks like in the dystopian hell scape the Trump admin desires. A society of corruption and psychological manipulation will not flourish. Everything decays including our ability to reason and human happiness.

Ответ для kth

Right, they’re collaborators

Boycott the networks that air it.

Ответ для Zora S

Definitely. Haven’t watch one minute of any CBS show since Colbert’s last show. I’m stuck with Paramount + till Dec 7th because they don’t refund yearly subscriptions. Cheap MFers

Yes; they did it to Biden who was going to talk about the political reality of Maga bsky.app/profile/kevi...

Kevin M. Kruse

Four years ago, Biden gave a speech warning about the dangers to democracy and the networks refused to air it because it was "political." I wonder if Trump making a partisan case for relitigating the 2020 election and calling for his political opponents to be jailed is going to be "political" too?

Ответ для Pooker & Mr. Alex plus 🌈 Taco McMuffin

of course they can? they're private companies!

Ответ для Adrienne

The FCC has some specific rules regarding the president asking for airtime... that's why I'm curious.

Ответ для Pooker & Mr. Alex plus 🌈 Taco McMuffin

yeah, i mean, there ARE ways he can make a formal request that the broadcast networks can't refuse, but i cannot imagine he or his staff bothered? he's just counting (correctly) on the owners and c-suite being bootlickers.

Ответ для Adrienne

Nah... It takes more than a tweet to get the networks to give up valuable airtime and advertising revenue for what, in essence, is a free air slot for the complainer in chief. Whatever tho... I'm too lazy to look up the regs.
