Atlantic puffins typically live between 20 and 30 years in the wild. They are monogamous and mate for life, returning to the exact same burrows and partners each year. They perform a tender billing ritual by topping and rubbing their beaks together, reinforcing their bond

How sweet!

They're so cuuuuuute. 😍

💕💕💕

I just got back from Newfoundland and all my social media feeds are uber cute, adorable puffins now!! Insufferable!!!

Nature reminder. Some bonds are Puffer Penguin while others are Praying Mantis.

I’ve seen a similar behavior in our giant parrots.

At which point does the female start moaning?

When the male leaves the toilet seat up yet again or puts out the wrong bin on collection day. Would be my guess. 😬

❤️

Oh, this is just too cute!

One of my late husband's favorites. He loved feeding them in Galveston.

I want to be a puffin next tine around. Wait, that's after I return as a cat. Definitely a puffin afterwards.

I just love them.

So how big is a puffin brain? About an inch or so? Puffins mate for life. Are we not smarter than Puffins? I’ll go ask my wife

Warning! - R rated.

Animals are amazing.

🥰

I love them because they're little and chubby and they always look like they're about to come crashing out of the sky when they fly.

My husband and I perform this ritual, too. 😅 We are pretty adorable, but not as adorable as these puffins 😉

Puffins are magical!!

How do they tell male from female? 😕😕

If their mates does not return do they find another?

Get a room. Lol. Beautiful.

I never could run down a puffin! Even after putting a new cam in the engine & a speed prop in the boat...they were just to quick, but they love flying 2' off the bow of the boat

Is monogamous mating prevalent in nature or not?

I may be part puffin. Just sayin.’

we really do need to learn alot from nature honestly

Wonder if they have something like tiktok to vent relationship issues with other puffins? Or do they just always get along?

I love puffins!!!

🥰🥰🥰

...and yet they are hunted killed and eaten😰

♥️♥️♥️

❤️

They really missed each other ❤️

I love puffins! ❤️

They’re adorable!💙💙💙💙

Sounds like not living together is the key

My bucket list trip ❤️

Gee, I wish my partner would treat me like this. 🤣🤣🤣

Beautiful. 🥰

This puffin video is adorable, but a lot of people are commenting about this being, “Eskimo Kisses.” I grew up calling rubbing noses that too, but that was before I learned it was culturally offensive to the Inuit, Inupiaq, Yupik peoples. Maybe we start calling it “puffin kisses” instead?

Puffin kisses! That's lovely.🥰

🌿

I adore this ❤️

I found out that they only have these bright colors on their bills during mating season

My energy company shows it loves me by enforcing its billing ritual as well.

We used to call those "Eskimo kisses" when I was a kid.

I love this. Thank you for sharing

Beautiful 😍

awwwwwwww 🥰 i need a tender billing routine if my own!!

It amazes me how they survive the storms in the Atlantic as they spend most of their time at sea.
