"Fortune's Weave" is a stupid name. The Roman goddess Fortuna (aka the Greek goddess Tyche) doesn't weave. She has a giant wheel she spins randomly to dump the rich into poverty and vice-versa. The Fates (aka the Greek "moirai") do the weaving. Non-fates were prohibited from weaving after Arachne.
