Hamas is militarily broken and at this point, the ongoing military operations are a barrier to retrieving the last hostages, not a help. Israel needs to begin using tools other than simply military strength, and the time for that has already come.

I was about to agree with your claim that the military campaign is no longer justified, but then I reread all that about Abbas being corrupt and I thought “You know what? What’s a mere 60 thousand men, women and children butchered? I really hate corruption, it’s like people who steal the stationary!

Coyne, is a prominent example, but who really grinds my gears are the 'Liberal' elders of Canadian journalism, most prominent of them Chantel Hebert, who I think needs to be eviscerated in public for her silence. They betray journalism. They shame generations of journalists. Their scarlet letter.

I agree. I find it's the journalists of colour -- more often women -- who have taken the risk to speak out on behalf of Palestinian journos who are being systematically murdered. The silence of many prominent journalists is disgraceful. Given this is a penned population being murdered, it's worse.

Exactly, why Hebert is so egregious, the people who have the most to lose sacrifice it for the greater good. Hebert is safe, she cannot be taken down by 'Honest Reporting' or other zionist pressure groups, but she chose not to. Disgraceful is right Women have been the champions here. Absolutely.

As I stated before, when Andrew was talking about another idyllic fantasy where Hamas is no more... More innocent people are going to die. I have a hard time wrapping my mind around how many that's been. Don't take that as me saying you shouldn't try to end Hamas.
