Farmland is Ottawa's superpower. Ottawa has 234,774 acres of farmland and 906 farms - no other G7 capital comes close. 36,000 people in Ottawa work in agriculture. We'd have to be some kind of crazy to disrupt it more than we have to.

The strangeness of all of this is that the classical civilizations these types hearken to was far from an "all white" civilization. Rome and Constantinople were wildly diverse cities.

From a Republican perspective, true. They don't have elections - the Republican preference.

There is going to be oil. There can either be oil in a separated Alberta herded into being an American territory by unpopular central Canada decisions it could no longer abide… or there can be oil in a non balkanized Canada that at least mitigates it somewhat.
