I'm up at 6.30am to write up an Andy Burnham interview the BBC did last week and have been teasing in segments, refusing to release under embargo. This it the first interview with a new PM. I don't object to it going to the BBC but treating it like some sort of celebrity exclusive feels a bit weird.

Isn’t that what politics is now, just another branch of showbusiness?

"There's no business like show business..." It's all become a little schtick and silly and tongue-in-cheek.

Sadly. All style and no substance.

Looks like I can’t DM you.

Is anyone going to ask him how we will pay for reduction in immigration? We seem to ask where the moneys coming from for everything else, but not the billions paid by immigrants.

Yes, odd behaviour around this. I did 5 Live yesterday morning basically on a snippet they teased just before my spot. The previous day the producer had said they weren't sure if they could give me the clip in advance. He was as baffled as I was. It turned out to just be an anodyne bit about Trump.

UK politics today. Entertainment.

Apparently it's what the electorate want. That and gimmicks.
