just mind boggling that as we suffer through this the trump admin is paying off energy companies to kill wind farms, the US EV market has imploded because of lack of subsidies, congress wants to pass a transport bill that would reduce funds for transit, & national dems have no climate strategy

Thank goodness they're making big strides at state levels, love seeing massive progress in states like California despite the maydays republicans have caused at the national level. It's all about making huge strides at a local and state level 🫡

"Dems have no climate strategy" The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), passed in 2022, alongside the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law of 2021. Together, they represent the largest investment in U.S. history to combat climate change. This is what Trump is undoing.

A bill that did basically nothing for transit and, instead, poured billions of dollars into highway projects is hardly a climate bill. EVs are an important band-aid, but a band-aid nonetheless. No form of mass car ownership is truly environmentally sustainable

Not lying; transit spending was down 2022-2024, (obviously not gone up with Trump) specifically because the funding deferred spending decisions to local and state DOTs, aka, the highway construction lobby

I just sent you several links about how the national democrats dumped billions into Amtrak and transit and your response that you’re not lying? Those decisions have always been local. Amtrak Cascades is a WSDOT and ODOT project, Hell most Amtrak routes are

Yes, and most DOTs disproportionately fund highway spending, to the detriment of non-car modes

Well, yes. But we’re a federal republic you’re not gonna get the Feds forcing transit spending to survive the courts. For example, mandatory Medicare expansion didn’t survive the courts as part of the ACA

It’s the GOP that have no climate policy. They have a fossil fuel policy. They don’t have a clean air policy, an environmental policy, or a public health policy. Get real. They passed on the Kyoto protocol, they got us out of Paris Climate Accord, it was the GOP.
