It would make sense - make them co-operatives so the people who own it each have a tiny share & no-one can take over & line their pockets. Welsh Water is supposed to be a not-for-profit water company but it transpires it has a 'board' the members of which are salting away millions in 'bonuses'. 😑

Agreed, I'm sick of us being taken for a ride by rich free-loaders. We need to take control of our utilities so they're not for profit. Outrageous that we have to pay so much for our water which after all is an essential for life. They'd be charging us for oxygen too if they could harness it.
