While being pro- immigration makes sense for this country, Trump and rightwing media would turn it into something like, “The Democratic Party wants to let loose rapist and thieves in your neighborhood.”

And Dems counter with 50% of farm labor and 35% of home construction is done with immigrant labor. Deporting them will send food and housing costs skyrocketing.

I agree. You are seeing this from a logical and humane perspective. The Rs and right wing media see immigration as a way to defeat Ds - and it works. It’s why immigration is one of Trump’s key talking points he makes outrageous claims and it works. It was a key reason why Kamala lost

True. However, if the Democrats run on it would be a mistake. I get that people want change and good things to happen. But the country as a whole is different from say, NYC. For example, blue collar workers. They are largely on the opposite side in the culture war.
