This was Avatar Aang situation was honestly a confusing and sad situation to witness. Especially how I was initially confused on what was true and false. Like I honestly wasn't sure to trust my own eyes and ears.

I choose to trust artists who say they dont use or support gen ai. But I also don't trust corporations to not fucking care what artists stand for and to use gen ai in other aspects of thier projects. Both can be true.

Im in no way trying to diminish the labor and love that the artists put into making this either. Im sure most of those artists are anti ai. Im sure most of them are pissed and sad. But its beyond that at this point.

People care about human jobs, human creativity, and they care about the environmental damages of gen ai. Using it in your slide show just proves to people that youre fine using it EVEN if you didn't use it in your animation. Its also a huge slap in the face to the human artists who worked on it.

I hate that i have to say it but its no longer just about the animation. People dont want chatgpt cited or used in the creation thier artbooks either, okay? They don't want it in thier panel presentations. They dont want it being used putting together those presentations. They. Dont. Want. It.

about the characteristics of an entire population of people and taking it as fact should be horrifying to everyone, especially minorities. Unlike movies/TV/books/etc. that already have done harm while representing PoC, they at least can be passed off as fiction, so exaggeration is bad but expected.+

With the decline of media literacy and the blatant amounts of disinformation out there, having a computer pass off 'facts' about different cultures/races that are created based on the amalgamation of racist content scoured from the internet+

The consensus is to attack the entire project because regardless of what artists declare, someone, a single individual likely from marketing, did named the AI tool for the sake of promoting it as a positive adulation for the shareholders. That is enough for many to condem everyone involved.
