I thought this FIFA business was to do with money and corruption, and mistreating the Somali team very badly. A few of the things that happened in the US, not to mention sky rocketting prices of seats.

Even the left in America seem to have a superiority complex. It’s why I don’t hold much hope of a reconciliation even after Trump. They really don’t like or particularly care for non-Americans

A lot of them also can't seem to move beyond the inherent USAnian hyper-individualist worldview. They blame 'capitalism', but the US model of capitalism is an outgrowth of that baked-in individualist attitude.

Also, a big reason for the US's strategic global reach is that much of it rests on the framework of the old European empires. But they don't seem to be ready for that conversation...
