It’s quite ironic that Labour seems to be descending into factionalism post Starmer

Completely predictable, not surprising at all

More fighting between "friends" on here than I've ever seen before..

I’ve purposely stayed quiet over this

As predicted. Starmer is more sensible and level headed than most of the Labour party. It's no accident that he was the one who pulled them out of the gutter and lead them to power.

The thing about promising to end factionalism, it'll only work if all the other factions agree...

The trouble appears to have been that Starmer didn't have a faction of his own. And if there's one thing factionalists don't like it's someone who refuses on principle to play their games.

Yes but I think that the recent cabinet changes have created a pro Starmer faction

But tbh it’s all so fucking second rate It’s embarrassing. People need to get a grip of themselves & realise the real enemy is Farage not people who believe in a slightly different left wing pathway

Frankly i‘m embarrassed by the state of the Labour Party.

It would have been nice if they could have got a grip of themselves before forcing out the duly elected leader of the Labour Party, and Prime Minister with a clear five-year mandate; without consulting the party membership.

or so many united against Burnham ... and yes getting coronated does that and he fucked up some of the dismissals, PM's allowed to have their own people but treat people with dignity and what he did to Reeves was abysmal, surprised her sister took AG (though unqualified)

Well, that's what happens if the new leader who spent a year undermining the PM/MPs now pushes them out in favour of the loyalists aka plotters that helped park him in Downing Street. That's why it matters how you become PM.

Indeed. Which itself is a grim irony, as I don't think the man himself would've wanted such an outcome.

I’ll just shoehorn my faction into power & then declare factionalism is no longer acceptable….
