What they are or aren’t called is a massive and pointless distraction. The question is, should we keep drilling or not? And, if we do, are we prepared for more wildfires and smoke blankets like we experienced yesterday in Aberdeen?

Climate change will kill millions, framing opposition to new drilling as attacking your neighbour is offensive. Of course people want their neighbours to thrive but since Scotland is well placed to gain many more renewables jobs (if Westminster will stop blocking it) they can do both.

I get that, but also we are destroying the only place in the Universe where we can live. Seriously. There is no sugarcoating this - your neighbor is choosing to work on something that will kill us all. Sit with that.

I don’t remember being asked to have this level of concern when the Day-Timer Company downsized in the wake of smart-phones or at the close of thousands of video stores. I feel like fossil fuel backers have better-funded public relations teams working on us.

The word "job" is doing a lot of work there. Obviously it depends what the job is. Pre-school teacher? Executioner for the state? Something in between? Be specific, man.

I don't care about labels, I care about the effect fossil fuels are having on the planet, which we can see happening right before our eyes.

This summer is going to be the coldest one for the rest of all of our lives. And thats of we stop all fossil fuel use now. Continuing to dig more filth out of the ground to burn is nihilistic omnicide. Get another job and stop trying to kill everyone.

Maybe the unions could prioritise calling for an emergency pipeline set up for fossil fuel industry workers to transition to new jobs inc transition training &priority for green energy jobs -rather than ppl like Sharon Graham calling Miliband some sort of hell demon for driving forward renewables 😳
