Good thread. There’s another thing I’ve been wanting to comment on in relation to wildfires. Climate change contrarians often raise the fact that globally, wildfires don’t burn bigger areas than in the past. But how useful is that observation? 1/

Firstly, as has been pointed out in response to those claims, the biggest wildfires by area are in the African savannahs. Those fires have decreased in size, while they have grown in other regions. And smaller savannah fires is not necessarily a good thing. I found this ⬇️ article interesting. 2/
