also: YMMV but folks in my part of town do a lot of ~ little free < what nots > ~ for stuff that doesn't need to be kept cold. I live on a bus route and keep chips/snacks and other essentials (when they're on COMBO LOCO) out for anybody who cruises by. You can be a free provider of stuff!
