I think unfortunately a lot of games that have the basic ingredients I want out of a co-op game (more than three players, the opportunity to hang out doing nothing but also go and do cool shit, a sense of progression and discovery) are games I find have very limited enjoyment in practice

I've tried MMOs (gameplay-free blahblahs) and survival games (often fun at first until the slog becomes unbearable) which theoretically fit the bill but something is ALWAYS missing for me

I also like the look of Lazy River because I like the idea of a shared vehicle but I'm not sure it'll quite scratch that itch (I suspect there will be a lot of great stuff for streamers to screech about though) www.youtube.com/watch?v=V_Dl...

I feel like a lot of these games are just made so a streamer can do a screaming reaction face while their character is subject to some wonky cartoon physics that stops you playing the game or doing anything for like 30 seconds

I'm probably just chasing the high of the days when running your own minecraft server was just great fun and you could jump on and find your friends building elaborate things or vomiting eggs on each other. I guess I want that but... more sophisticated? Less "pointless"?

Yeah it was just like wandering into some big wilderness we all got to take part in, it was so good
