Yes & herein lies the problem. When Labour was dragged to the hard left by Corbyn, centre-left Labour MPs fought for their traditions and their principles. When the same thing happens in the Tory party, centre-right Conservative MPs go gently into that good night.

The Tory MPs left who are properly centre right at heart are resolutely keeping their mouths shut, having learnt from the Johnson purge in 2019 that they’ll just be replaced by people who will do as they’re told, regardless of the damage to the Party.

Considering Burnham is going to enact policy to push sick and disabled folk into poverty and death, would you not consider this Labour Party far right? Because it’s looking like that.

I think it’s important to use words properly. If you’re going to call Burnham ‘far right’, that leaves no room for distinction between him and the Tories, Reform, Restore, Tommy Robinson, Elon Musk and MAGA. The term ‘far right’ is devalued into meaninglessness, which is what the far right wants.

You can’t convince me someone who is slashing immigration and punching down on sick and disabled people is not far right. He can do whatever mild, soft left policies he wants. It doesn’t change his right wing policies or dilute the horrors.

That’s what makes me angry. You see media types saying they’re “left wing” but they applaud when charlatans like Burnham talk about pushing the sick and disabled into poverty with cuts. It’s just vile and makes me feel physically sick. Total hypocrites.
