the interview isn't particularly set up that way; it's the same kind of funding wonk/startup running questions they always ask and the answers are mostly careful and worthy and pretty thought out, but the promo has carefully found the only possible controversial quote and *truncated it*

so it begs people *not* to go read the article, and just to react to the truncated quote and neither the subject nor the actual damn Verge site get anything out of that, so it's lose lose

Yeah. Not what I expect of them and they’re going back on “read before burning” list. Also a weird thing to do that on!

it's so weird because it might get them poasting cred but only from people who *didn't go and read the article* my initial take was way off because I trusted them not to do something like that

I was fortunate to see the posts bitching about it before i saw the Discourse. There but for the grace of the non-algorithm go I, or something like that. Truly atrupar is S-tier.

I read it before weighing in ... when I posted about it on fedi, I didn't even mention the "bubble" comment. gotosocial.thenexus.today/@thenexusofp... As for atrupar, I muted him long ago 🤣

He posts a lot, and what he posts is _demented,_ because he's on the Trump beat. I have checked many times and never found his quotes unfair. Sometimes a bit shortened for character limits, but not unfair. Muting is entirely reasonable though, bc all politics all the time is bad for you!
