MY LATEST: With the right on the rise, Victoria finds itself on the precipice. Will our most progressive state - next in line for an election - become a 'canary in the coal mine’ of far right thinking? Bookies say 'yes'. #auspol #springst @MichaelWestBiz tinyurl.com/mry72sxm

Victorian election. Four months to go, too close to call - Michael WestAs Labor replaces Premier Jacinta Allan, One Nation is in the ascendancy and may join the Liberals to form government in Victoria.tinyurl.com

I think we have to be the sacrificial lambs in this experiment. We need a Coalition/ON government here in VIC (hopefully just one term) just to ensure that the same does not ever happen Federally. Either that or a resurgence in Greens votes and more Independents to help ensure a better outcome.

That's one way to look at it... but consider how much damage they can do in 4 years. Think Trump 2.0.

Absolutely! But I think it’s almost inevitable at this stage and the harm they can do within a state‘s borders is limited compared to federally. I also think it could mark the end of the Liberal party.

No. We should not be the sacrificial lambs. The damage they will do will take years and years to rectify. People need to remember the Kennett years. Absolutely horrendous.

Please nooo.

Theocracy.

With more than a dash of One Nation culture wars.

For ON to win they'd need to run a candidate in every seat and do some nefarious deals with the LNP. I believe Carrol is looking to remove the group ticket prior to the election, if that goes ahead it will reduce their capacity significantly.

Who do the idiots think they're going to vote for? One candidate so far. Because that way they can't be properly held to account

They'll be trotting out those candidates shortly. Will be worth looking at their histories. ON's vetting processes are historically awful.

Yes and with 70-whatever of them who’s going to hold them all to account? There’ll be some doozies no doubt about it

Crazy if they do - the right is wrecking QLD righ now

There's an extra dimension in Vic: One Nation, which wasn't resurgent when Qld went to the polls. They want all kinds of culture wars stuff - schools etc. - and might be part of a new government with the Libs.

Yep even more reason to keep them out
