today was a coworker's last day. not because he got a new job but because he's moving to fucking cairo. becuase trump's administration wouldn't renew his visa.

i'm just pissed about it. this shouldn't happen. He's a good guy, contributes well, has two of the cutest kitties, and just... couldn't make it work.

I have a friend who has a frickin PhD and had a job lined up but couldn't get a visa, so now she lives in Berlin (and just helped another US friend who has been out of work move there). We are losing so much and for what.
