Honestly? I'm more surprised it took them this long to do a major FF7 thing in FF14. Sure, we've had little stuff, like materia, Jessie, and a handful of mounts, but there really haven't been any big nods to FF7. The closest thing would be the Weapon trials, but the Weapons have been in other FF
