Italians do it better!

Reminds me of how in Niagara Falls Canada there used to be a mummy at a cheap roadside museum that everyone including the operators thought was fake that was later discovered to be real and an actual Pharaoh at that. It’s been returned to Egypt now egypt-museum.com/the-pharaoh-...

The Pharaoh of Niagara Falls - Egypt MuseumIn 1290 B.C., Ramesses I, former general turned Pharaoh, was laid to rest in the Valley of the Kings, wrapped in linen and legacy. But centuries later, tomb robbers stirred, priests panicked, and the royal mummy was whisked away into hiding. Fast-forward to the 19th century, and his remains were quietly sold to curious foreigners and ended up, quite astonishingly, in a dusty glass case in Niagara Falls, Canada, labelled merely as an “Egyptian nobleman.”egypt-museum.com

Next you are going to tell me that the canals at the Venetian Hotel in Vegas are not the real thing.

Can't build elaborate follies anymore? What the hell

that's such an elaborate ruse, i love it

That is just entirely too much physical labor for a scam, imo. might as well get a real job.

Most civic minded Italian

I mean we have people building Noah’s Ark theme parks in Kentucky. Not treated as an historical artifact but… a scam in my mind.

He must be so charismatic to talk to (but in a fun way).

Frankly I should they should've let him keep it open, and advertise it only to right-wing conservatives to lure them into fake archaeology tours so the money could then be donated to the poor or some left-wing cause lmao

I can't believe the city is suing him for losses, he probably drove so much tourism!
