When my marriage fell apart, I was overcome with grief and could not work. I was out about a month. My work (to their credit!) checked in on me constantly, gave me some extra PTO, and were prepared to FMLA me to keep me. Normal people can't disappear like Mitch. The GOP thinks it's better than us.
