The 1st paragraph - ‘Missouri Republicans are aggressively working to manipulate the rules of democracy to their benefit, including, notably, by further gerrymandering the state’. Ask why they suddenly want to increase voter turnout. They aren’t doing this out of the goodness of their hearts.

Missouri's a weird one. They also decriminalized weed earlier than most states, and a few years back made recreational use legal.

There’s a couple things: I think some GOP make deals with minority Dems to get around super far right GOP, and we get this. But also, look up the state referendum votes and wonder how the state is so red. (GOP desperately trying to vote this aspect a quick death next month)

As a lifelong Missouri resident I feel certain the felons and people on probation are either right-wingers or non-voters. Our legislators only pass laws that favor the Republican Party.
