The way they openly talk about how they just need to lie better, that they just need to find the correct euphemism to satisfy the boorish masses just proves how much they think how stupid their citizens are, while at the same time completely overestimating their own cunning.

It's amazing how it just doesn't enter their heads that "welfare reforms" are destroying lives and people whose lives are destroyed are very angry about it. Framing is not going to change that.

Yes there is a circular logic: Andy Burnham seems like a good guy so - he wouldn't do anything that was bad for people so - everything he does must be good for people so - he must be a good guy so - etc.

They’ve just announced moving it back to the previous cap as a good thing, as if they didn’t raise it and as if they didn’t pretend the previous cap was “unfunded and unaffordable” and the new cap was actually just as good. It’s just pathetic

Welfare expenditure has been stable for many decades. Looking to similar countries proves its not scale of spending at all. Just a punitive Government looking to punish, never “We will do this to improve lives”, just “We will take away this to punish you”. Thats their modus operandi.
