When I worked at Barnes & Noble, the standard way for processing returns of mass market paperbacks was the strip the cover off (the bookland EAN bar code was inside the front cover) and throw out the rest of the book. I destroyed tens of thousands of books probably.
evil maidthere's no need to get outraged by every single thing. book destruction is not some kind of sin. it's not like they're trashing rare editions. lots of books get pulped all the time. now you're just looking for ways to be mad.
