Stop this nonsense debate and get on with the second reading of scrapping group ticket voting so I can actually read the bloody bill, #springst . Grrrr.

Government just moved to change the Assembly guillotine for group ticket voting bill from 5 pm tomorrow to 7 pm today. Hope that is to allow time to put it through the LC tomorrow.

I have read the Bill and added a link to the Bill page in my rolling commentary here kevinbonham.blogspot.com/2026/07/grou... If the Bill passes GTV will be abolished for this year's election and replaced with a Senate-style semi-OPV system with savings provision.

There is a minor difference. Because Victoria has registered how to vote cards, a how to vote card that just recommends an ATL 1 for a party and fails to tell the voter to number 2-5 as well will be illegal. (It need not however recommend any specific 2-5).
