When I was podcasting regularly about Bronze Age Marvel, I made use of this guide an embarrassing number of times.

Wait, Marvel Macchio is not pronounced MAH-CHEE-OH, like Karate Kid Macchio?

I've heard lots of people pronounce @jmdematteis.bsky.social's surname de-mat-TAY-iss - is the version in the screen snip the correct one?

I remember this! I also remember what must have been another Bullpen Bulletins from around the same time where they said you pronounced David Michelinie’s surname to rhyme with “pickle my knee”

The funny thing is that like half of these are just wrong. Bob Budiansky pronounces his own name "Bud-ee-an-ski".

Technically, Orzechowski would be pronounced or-ze-cov-skee, if we go by the original Polish (of which it originates).

This is awesome and I've been pronouncing Dematteis, Buscema, and Trimpe wrong for decades.

Doing a victory lap for Giacoia. I had it right from my first guess! My theory about Orzechowski was always that he became a great letterer from having to write that name all the time.
