THE SAMURAI AND THE PRISONER is totally entrancing btw. The sparse, foley-rich castle is a remarkable feat of vision; I have never seen a jidaigeki with such eerie, languid combat and lively dramaturgy. K. Kurosawa makes such delicate, intricate films seem effortless.
