It's good and healthy and the right thing to do when you don't let random people trying to insult you like this get to you. Not just this lady, anyone else in her situation has my backing. People should not be mean to others just for the heck of it.

You can't hurt my feelings by accusing me of liking cats (or dogs). It's like trying to mock me for liking flowers or chocolate or kindness. They're all objectively good.
