I like both of those! For the college project That's a really good insight on national/ cultural identity vs. nationalism. The way those lines get blurred under military-industrial complexes is so surreal.

And for the photographer's story that feels very Machiavellian. Which is one my favorite type of villain writing styles.That could even be some interesting insight into class dynamics. It's fun to think that both perspectives could be seen as "villains"/ antagonists from the other's perspective.

Well the photographer one *can* be, but it’s introspective over everything else. That story would be one of regret, atonement, and framed from the perspective of someone who ultimately leaves us with the hope that attempting to do the right thing is necessary, even if late or against the odds.

That sounds VERY MUCH in your wheelhouse. 😎You do a great job of taking us through your characters' heads. Tycho's still cemented as my favorite of your characters because of how you wrote him. And the "Same as it never was" page is such a beautiful, heartbreaking scene.
