Fuck the "dialogs" Coursera makes you do with chatbots in their courses. Here, the bot forgets to give me details I need to answer questions and then supplies them (still missing crucial info), and tells me I'm a super special smart boy for remembering the details in a video I just watched.

Jesus, Coursera has really fallen off. So much LLM and gamification bloat these days. Yuck.

does anyone remember when Google Chrome first came out, one of its best features was that one tab crashing wouldn't crash the whole browser? can we bring that back?

i have slowly - too slowly - learned to be very afraid of generalist content creators. they're often the human version of what an LLM is. they communicate surface-level understanding in a believable and confident way while making hidden mistakes they'll never be held accountable for.

as a society we hem and haw a lot about whether the internet or social media does more harm or more good. here's where I'm landing right now: having free access to a large amount of information at your pleasure is not a bad thing, but having FRICTIONLESS access to it is actually really bad.

the amount of accounts that are anti MAGA and yet still willfully produce stuff with LLMs reveals such a lack of critical thinking skill, and with continued LLM use it will only get worse.
