It is interesting to compare the policy discussion around nuclear fission and AI. We fight wars over the regulation of the former, and people seem to be a-okay with having the narcissistic sociopaths in Silicon Valley write their own laws. Surely the gap should be smaller than this.

The thing about letting people be this rich is that they atrophy mentally as a bedridden invalid would physically. People need consequences. They need guardrails. Any Dad who has been left home alone for too long while their family is away will attest to this.
