i've been writing Spidey comics since 2020 & before that I wrote for the MCU. I don't say that to brag, but to highlight it can hard for me to engage w/ Marvel media and not have it feel like work (in a good way). Spider-Man: BND is one of those rare exceptions. Great time for filmmakers & comics.
As I drove home I kept thinking "This would be the perfect 5-6 issue arc/mini-series. If someone dropped this pitch/script on my desk as an editor, my only note would be "how soon can you get this to art?A!"
NYC felt like 616 NYC in all the best ways possible.
There's a character beat toward the end of the second act that is that is so small, but it perfectly captures what makes Peter Parker so endearing. It's a perfect Spider-Man character-momnt, and I can't applaud the writing enough.
It's absolutely infuriating. You hired me to do a task, now I have to beg you to give me notes and, most importantly, PAY me?! I ill hit you with my car.
