Someone give me twenty million bucks to make a Star Trek CRPG where you play out the events of different episodes asynchronously, sometimes at the same time, and each main character has multiple stories and relationships going on at once

The gameplay idea is that each dialog option can be accompanied by an intent, and different NPCs respond well to different intentions So if you're dealing with a Klingon, you'll often focus more on strength, but talking with a Ferengi might require diplomacy or intelligence

We're about to see so, so many games made by people who don't know how to make stuff look good at low resolution

this is not to say everything is so dire over there the field of research is still rich with promise

Oooooh I am VERY excited about this. I'm working on some personal projects that need some fantastical airships, and the ability to export these as reference material would be phenomenal

The thing I'm most excited about is the ability to take advantage of some low-level changes that have happened in 3D over the past couple decades Things like weighted vertex normals, better modeling and UV tools, and especially the ability to bake much higher quality textures from better sources

I'm really excited about the next steps on this because I'm going to get to play around with all kinds of fun vertex coloring stuff to blend between ground textures, apply lighting, and add color variety to tiling stuff Not a lot of call for those things in character art these days 🤔

Have you played MGS5? If not, it's one of the best open world action games out there Story's complete nonsense, but it's a ton of fun
