Prepping for the end of the world isn't the same as building a gated community to keep out the riffraff. War or climate collapse will affect everyone and there is nowhere to hide. More proof that billionaires just aren't very bright. www.irishtimes.com/world/americ...

We need to start paying the value of things, factoring in wages and sourcing ethical, locally-made goods. And as the man says, one good quality capsule wardrobe will last for years. That said, I can't afford it, but I would if I could. www.theguardian.com/fashion/2026...

In my opinion, all this talk about skills based and vocational training for 14-16 year olds is a logical consequence of Brexit. Shrinking GDP, lack of access to global markets, shut out of Europe in terms of free movement of labour, means skilled, creative, media, admin, research jobs are down.

Did you know a barrister is facing jail just for reminding a jury they have the right to vote with their conscience? This historic right has kept trials fair since 1670. We can't let it be silenced now. Add your name to defend fair trials👇 you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/sa...

I don't think I really want to save a quid in bus fares by causing the deaths of thousands in developing countries. No thanks. Let's increase the aid budget and save families from an awful fate of drought, poverty or disease. #burnham

Very unhappy with the decision to create one unitary authority for the whole of #Gloucestershire. These are very different 'natural areas' and Stroud District will lose its green focused agenda. Would have made more sense to create five unitary councils, so devolve downwards not upwards.

One of the most distressing things about the UK (although plenty of competition) is the deliberate trashing of the very successful creative arts sector, not because it's not profitable (because it is) but because it bucks the dystopian, AI, data centre future the oligarchy have in mind for us.

If this person becomes Chancellor I will just congratulate myself for not being taken in by Burnham. The Labour machine is the Labour machine, and it's just another con to keep the show on the road (the show being the way things are and have always been). www.ft.com/content/54d1...

This is a really great speech - ears pricked up at the building council housing policy. It's the one thing that would 'solve' the housing crisis as long as you end right to buy. And you also need local builders to do it. Stop replying on the big corporations. www.youtube.com/watch?v=-u3M...

The quote "A cynic is a man who knows the price of everything, and the value of nothing" seems to aptly summarise Exeter Uni leadership.
