I gotta say, it does sound like something Elon would say.

The Pacific Electric Red Cars were quite familiar to those of us of a certain vintage. They were gone by the time I reached sentience, but the rights of way were still around. A Red Car is in the rail museum at the L.A. County Fair in Pomona.

We bought our house at the depth of the Great Recession. It's more than doubled in value since then. That's capitalism.

I'm a little sensitive to people giving von Braun credit for EVERYTHING, that's all. I know you didn't.

"Wernher von Braun made the first functional rockets ..." Mmmm ... There were other modest efforts (Goddard, Korolev) prior to WW2 but von Braun had the money and government backing. Post-WW2, the JPL and USAF were in parallel to von Braun. But I'll concede your point. 😉

As I've told others, I was a police dispatcher out of college many years ago. What is on the radio isn't always accurate. We had wrong information on the air all the time.
