Delighted that Spectacles of Waste is now available in Korean, translated by Jongsik Yi and Jungha Hwang. No idea how they coped with the puns and wordplay. @politybooks.bsky.social #STS @aussts.bsky.social @sydsts.bsky.social

Congratulations to Steve Epstein and Ulrike Felt, awarded the 2026 John Desmond Bernal Prize for outstanding lifetime contributions to science and technology studies. From @4sonline.bsky.social. Particularly happy to see Steve's shout out to the beloved and much-missed Adele Clarke.... #STS
2026 John Desmond Bernal Prize4sonline.orgSad to learn of the death of Carlo Ginzburg, a brilliant historian. His microhistories, with their redistribution of intellectual agency, are a continuing inspiration. I could not have written The Collectors of Lost Souls without their guidance...
So sad to learn of the death of the great Abdullah Ibrahim, such a brilliant politically committed musician. For me, his music conjures Melbourne in the late 1970s, early 1980s, strangely. A sound track to those times for some of us.
A new book (or booklet?) from brilliant and prolific Sophie Chao! Plantations. 'Approaching plantations as fertile sites for theorizing inter- and intrahuman relations, the book unearths ... unexpected yet urgent possibilities for cultivating counter-plantation futures and multispecies justice' #STS
