Yes, today’s ’suffrage objects’ are a few of the games that owe their existence to the suffrage movement. Some created by the activists, some by commercial manufacturers, perhaps the bonhomie generated did convert some ‘anti’s to the Cause #womenshistory #suffragettes #suffrageobject #votesforwomen

Spectacular processions were staged by both the suffragettes & suffragists - in London & beyond - admired by press & public & enjoyed by the participants. #suffrageobjects such as banners, sashes & other items of ‘regalia’ survive in museums & still appear at auction. The idea of a voter as male was so firmly fixed that postcard publishers had great fun with the prospect of ‘the world tuned upside down’ if the suffrage campaign succeeded.
