I used to love trailers, but as I developed my own taste, I found that at worst they are intentionally misleading to make something look like something its not, and at best they are redundant to the thing itself. A trailer is most effective on me when it's something I had no interest in.

I think it makes sense? If you're the type of person who hears what something is about and who worked on it and that makes you interested in seeing it, trailers aren't for you. Trailers are for people who need a different kind of information to get excited about something.

DS2 captures a really melancholy tone and deals with the process of going hollow in a way that emphasizes it as a sad lonely thing... in a way that the other games just don't.
