Our team was hard at work on the Orange Line, installing & securing new rail ties. 🟠 Ties act as the foundation of the rail system, making sure rails are the correct distance apart, & support the weight of trains. Replacing them before they wear out is a key part of keeping Metro safe & reliable.

Our dedicated crews put a lot of work into cleaning our stations…including the parts you don’t see! Trash thrown behind the parapet wall can increase the risk of fires and attract critters 🐀❌ Help us keep stations clean by disposing of garbage in trash cans located on platforms and mezzanines.

Plan ahead! To make vital improvements, we must conduct major work. This includes the current 2026 Red Line summer construction, 2026 Green Line winter single-tracking, and upcoming 2027 maintenance across the Orange, Silver, Blue, and Red lines. 🧵

Weekend ridership is booming! As Metro delivers service for the region especially during major events, there are fewer opportunities for weekend outages — 30% decrease since 2023. Our maintenance work must adapt to growing weekend demand while continuing to keep the system safe & reliable.

Metro is strengthening how it monitors, manages, and responds to maintenance issues across the system. We’re focused on using technology to monitor and quickly respond to assets in our system. Centralizing our efforts equals reliability and better service delivery for customers.

The path to world-class transit is investing in modern, automated systems. By installing partial-height platform doors, Metro will enhance safety & reliability & create a better customer experience by reducing track intrusions, limiting service delays, & helping customers feel safer on platforms.

Global transit expertise is helping shape the future of your commute. Thank you to APTA for facilitating a peer review of our Rail Modernization Program, which found Metro to be at the right stage of planning for this work. 🧵
