Car Brain.

Even going into a store wasn't enough. Employee was honest enough to admit he can't place an order or raise a human on the phone.

Our Wifi repeater, that we bought from our service provider for easy integration into their proprietary Wifi configuration, recently failed. It has proven utterly impossible to order a new one. The website and phone system ONLY tries to sell new plans. No chance to talk to a human. 2/

2/ Nearly all unintended acceleration events are caused by drivers mashing the accelerator instead of the brake. It's a fundamental design mistake, common to all cars. One-pedal driving makes this more likely via a slightly different driver error causation process.

Fair enough. We run ours Model 3 in the highest re-gen level, but we are not interested in one-pedal driving mode. Tried it for a while. Hated it. Thought it was dangerous as it started to break the habit of covering the brakes when required. 2/

All cars have brake pedals that operate regular brakes. One-pedal driving is an option that will fully stop the car if you lift off the accelerator, but they still have a regular brake pedal. What are we even talking about here?

You might have to turn the regen level up in the settings somewhere.

There's a brake pedal. All cars still have brake pedals. That is what is used for emergency braking. What is this talk about "buttons" for emergency braking. (I know North Americans call the parking brake an "emergency brake" but that's not what it is.)

100% agree. I think one-pedal driving should be illegal. Two factors: 1) If you never use the brake pedal, it won't be a natural reflex in an emergency. 2) Walking speeds in carparks and driveways should be done while covering the brake, not with your foot over the murder pedal.

Exactly. It's not so much that drivers don't know the rules, it's that they simply ignore them, rating their own superior skills to keep them from crashing. Road rules are really only for everyone else who aren't as skilled as they are.

Jesus fucking christ. Men. Number one. Do not sexually assault women. Also be aware that it's happening so frequently that a lot of your well-intentioned interactions can scare women. Try to imagine the world as they experience it, with the ever-present threat, and act accordingly. Be better.

A gift for us? Yes. Pog only did a final pull for MVdP once he realised that to save anything for a sprint (which he'd lose) would have resulted in them both being caught. So a "gift"? No, not really. JP, on the other hand, he probably could have won with another half-pedal stroke and a bike throw.

He's not like us....

Absolutely. The situational awareness at 70km/hr in a full sprint is just staggering. It was a class move from Jasper. Strangely, I didn't enjoy Pog's 2 gifts earlier in the Tour, but this one from JP was great.
