Narcissists and other hideous people float ideas like this all the time and call it a joke if there’s too much resistance or retaliation. It’s how they test how far they can push things, to see what they will be allowed to get away with.

I personally find it sounds really intimate to me in the context of romance. Like they’re the other half of your soul, or you’re a ‘team’ in a way, supporting one another.
