The coolest movie of all time

I had something unexpected come up today & my essay on The Adolescence of Utena probably won't be published until tomorrow. I apologize for it being late. I'm juggling a lot of things right now.

My husband has been working on this for a while now and it's very nearly finished. There's nothing he loves more than animation & this zine is a testament to that love. It's been very cool to watch him piece it together.

I'm glad that the Odyssey exists because my bro-iest friend (who is an absolute sweetheart irl) posted a video where one guy said to another "you've gotta go see the new Christopher Nolan movie" and his buddy replied "you outta-see these nuts" and it made me laugh very hard.

Really like the new Charli album. She's called it her Lou Reed period & that's an appropriate description--deadpan sketches, prickly, where the line between irony and feeling is hazy. I love her feminine denouement of taking the symbology of pop music and finding meaning in the meaningless.

Serendipitous timing on my part to post this on the same day that a super deluxe 4k edition of MANHUNTER was announced. I hope that Mann's new cut of the film is awesome. I will be checking it out in time.

I relate to Charli bc if I had a massively successful pop album I would also cash in all my chips to make music with John Cale & David Cronenberg & star in a Takashi Miike film.

Getting the feeling that David Cronenberg's spoken word monologue on Charli's new album might be the artistic moment of the year for me.
