Historical and racial accuracy in The Odyssey never mattered.. It's not historical fact. It is a fairy tale/ myth story written down from stories told by sailors by a man 200 years after it occurred. Is Pecos Bill or Paul Bunyon , White, Black or Hispanic? Who cares it's all tall tales.
