The Northern Tornadoes Project has passed a major milestone! The NTP launched in 2017, and over 10 seasons of investigations we have passed the 1,000 tornadoes confirmed mark (see map below). Many thanks to all of the staff, grad students, interns, partners, collaborators and public contributors!

The NTP has confirmed 2 tornadoes in southern Quebec on July 21. The 1st was at Harrington, NW of Montreal, snapping power poles and trees and rated EF1. The second tornado occurred at Saint-Donat. The damage was mainly to trees, and rated at EF0. Details: uwo.ca/ntp/blog/202... #meteoQC
The NTP has confirmed a microburst at Bayfield in southwestern ON on July 3. Estimated maximum winds of 115 km/h produced tree damage, with fallen trees damaging structures and vehicles and affecting power lines. An EF0 rating was assigned. Details: uwo.ca/ntp/blog/202... #ONstorm
FYI - we are also aware of damage from this storm further to the northeast in the Saint-Donat area of southern Quebec, and the survey team will investigate the damage there later today. #meteoQC

The NTP has confirmed an EF2 tornado at Coal Valley in southern AB on July 17. Witnesses captured visual evidence of a tornado south of Robb, near Coal Valley. A track of tree damage was identified and assessed at EF2. Full details at the NTP blog here: uwo.ca/ntp/blog/202... #ABstorm
We have completed work on the tornadoes from the July 10/11 tornado outbreak in southern SK and AB. An additional 6 SK tornadoes have been confirmed from July 10 (uwo.ca/ntp/blog/202...), and an additional 7 SK tornadoes from July 11 (uwo.ca/ntp/blog/202...). All are rated EF1 or less. #SKstorm
The NTP has confirmed two EF2 tornadoes at Rocky Mountain House in southern AB on July 18. They caused significant tree damage. In addition, the first destroyed a well-constructed outbuilding while the second caused damage to the roof structure of a home. Details: uwo.ca/ntp/blog/202... #ABstorm

The NTP has confirmed an EF3 tornado in eastern AB at Tulliby Lake on July 11. An NTP damage survey team documented significant damage, including a destroyed house (unoccupied), a thrown RV, and areas with every tree snapped or uprooted. Details at the NTP blog: uwo.ca/ntp/blog/202... #ABstorm

The NTP has confirmed an EF2 tornado in QC, about 250 km NW of Montreal, on July 1. The tornado left a large forest scar clearly visible in satellite imagery. The tree damage warranted an EF2 rating with the estimated maximum wind speed being 215 km/h. Full details: uwo.ca/ntp/blog/202... #meteoQC
In addition to the confirmed Tulliby Lake, AB tornado of July 11, the NTP is confirming a pair of tornadoes that occurred with a single storm close to Glaslyn, SK on the evening of July 11. The confirmations are based on visual evidence and no damage or injuries have been reported. #SKstorm

The confirmation is based on multiple photos and videos, as well as radar imagery.
