Today we would like to recognize Ken Sample aka Ken Cougar. A Black man who is credited with creating and coining the term "Fursona". While drawing one of his "Exotics" Ken drew a Cougar character that looked strikingly like himself. Attendees of this conference also wanted their own characters!

From the same conbook he also had this article. He was on staff and close friends with the founders of the con (Mark and Rodney). He is in the lower right of this photo on a trip with said founders to England. The other man was Andre Johnson who was a roommate to M&R who ran a BBS at the house.
