No congressional authorization. No clear endgame. No accountability. Just Trump escalating war, corporations cashing in and the Roberts Court’s immunity ruling hovering over it all. This is what unchecked presidential power looks like.

The Seattle shooting is another reminder that gun violence can turn any gathering into a crime scene. The Roberts Court’s response? Keep dismantling safeguards and greenlighting the gun lobby’s demand for more guns in more places.

Trump’s reckless Iran war is a warning about the Roberts Court’s immunity decision. A president launches attacks. Corporations profit. Congress is sidelined. And the Court has made holding him criminally accountable for “official acts” near impossible.

Three killed in the Seattle shooting. Four wounded. A 2-year-old among them. Another public gathering shattered by gunfire. And SCOTUS just struck down a Hawaii law keeping guns out of public spaces. Gun lobby first. Safety last.

The Seattle festival shooting makes SCOTUS’s Hawaii ruling look even worse. Hawaii said no concealed guns on private property open to the public without the owner’s permission. The Roberts Court struck it down 6–3. Gun rights over lives. Again.

SCOTUS gave Trump immunity. SCOTUS expanded presidential power. SCOTUS made independent agencies easier to control. SCOTUS keeps using the shadow docket to clear the path. So no, one inconvenient ruling for Trump does not make The Roberts Court independent.

The Roberts Court just spent the term asking one question: Who gets more power? Not Black communities. Not trans kids. Not working people. Not families. It was Trump, donors, political parties, and the already powerful. That's a captured Court.

John Roberts wants respect for his Court. Then it should stop acting like a political machine for billionaires, corporations, and the far right. Legitimacy is not owed. It is earned.

Make no mistake: SCOTUS has had Trump’s back. ✅Immunity from criminal accountability. ✅More power over federal agencies. ✅A shadow docket that keeps clearing the way. One “no” on birthright citizenship does not erase the pattern.

Democracy does not only die when someone cancels an election. It dies when courts make votes matter less. When billionaires get louder. When presidents become less accountable. When rights depend on which justices feel like protecting them. That is the Roberts Court’s record.

Hawaii passed a commonsense law: no concealed handguns on private property open to the public without the owner’s permission. Roberts & Co struck it down 6-3. Because apparently, even property owners’ rights take a back seat when the gun lobby asks nicely.

Look at the pattern. SCOTUS barely protected birthright citizenship, weakened Black voting rights, unleashed more election money, and handed MAGA an anti-trans win. The Roberts Court is reshaping democracy for the rich and powerful.

The Supreme Court knows how to protect independence. It protected the Fed. It just refused to protect the agencies that defend workers, consumers, civil rights, and fair competition. That tells you exactly whose stability this Court cares about.

If Alito or Thomas retires before the midterms, do not call it routine. Call it what it is: a chance for Trump and MAGA to lock in a younger, more extreme Supreme Court majority before voters get a say. We cannot sleepwalk into another Kavanaugh.

This is how democracy gets hollowed out: Not with one dramatic announcement. With rulings that make agencies less independent, regulators more afraid, corporations more powerful, and presidents harder to check. That is the Roberts Court’s project.

Do not let the headline fool you. Yes, birthright citizenship survived. But four justices refused to fully affirm the constitutional guarantee that anyone born here is a citizen. 5-4 is not reassuring. It is a warning.

Remember Brett Kavanaugh. Justice Kennedy retired before the midterms. Trump got his nominee. The Court moved even further right for a generation. Now, if Alito or Thomas steps aside, MAGA will try to run the same play again. We need to be ready.

Most people understand that guns do not belong in grocery stores, restaurants, concert venues, or private businesses unless the owner says so. The Roberts Court disagreed. Their ruling was not about freedom. It was about delivering for the gun lobby again and again.

What happens when independent regulators can be fired for political reasons? Corporations get bolder. Workers get less protection. Consumers get fewer watchdogs. That’s what the Roberts Court made possible.

Venezuelan TPS holders have built lives here. They work here. They pay taxes here. They raise families here. They followed the rules. Now the Trump administration is asking SCOTUS to help strip protections from hundreds of thousands of people. Cruelty is the point.
