Hmm… autocorrect fail there it seems 🤨Should be Winged Wattle (not Winger)

He was probably a bit disappointed in the long run because orchids like these ones don’t usually make any nectar.

Lovely! Could the hakea be Hakea recurva maybe?

Not to mention all those that will be scared half to death by the loud “siren-like warning sound” that will apparently last “for about 10 seconds”.

Interesting contrast! Quite a few more skyscrapers have gone up in that time. Thanks for sharing your picture

It’s a beautiful park and botanic gardens, one of the few botanic gardens I’ve visited to only grow plants from the region it is located in. Not surprising I guess given the diversity we have here in WA

Beautiful!

You could very well be right! This shrub was bursting with other life it was hosting and there were so many other lichens in the area around it too. Spent a very happy morning investigating these smaller things

Wow!

It’s lovely isn’t it! I had to scramble under a rather wet and very prickly bush to take the pictures but definitely worth it.

This has happened to us so many times! I’m convinced it’s an almost universal guarantee that the target of your searching will be right next to the car… but only visible on your return to said car, obviously 🤪

This plant has become a choking invasive weed in the southwest of Western Australia. A garden escapee that has completely filled many creeks and wetlands which has then eliminated the native plants that would usually grow in those habitats. It’s depressing to see

000

You won’t regret it!

000

Yes, it’s one of the scrambling Drosera species. Here’s another shot of the same species showing the whole plant, including the carnivorous leaves

Glad you’re enjoying them!
